Great cooler backpack for family outings
I’m very pleased with this backpack. We use this for family outings to the zoo, museum etc.
All the great points:
-It is comfortable to wear all day which is…
This bag is awesome. You can use it anytime and almost anywhere. The cooler is almost sealed tight and waterproof. I have yet to experience any leaks. There is plenty of room for a six pack and food.
My only complaint it the opening and closing of the cooler compartment. The dry cargo area is above the lid of the cooler. It makes it kind of awkward getting into the cooler while balancing the top to keep the whole thing from falling over. Although, it’s not that big of a deal.
Overall, it’s great and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants an insulated backpack that’s surprisingly comfortable and has enough space for food and drinks.
I used this backpack once and I intend to continue using it for trips to the park (small picnics). If your looking for a product for small picnics for two people, this is great.
PROS:
Enough space for 7-8 (12 oz.) bottles and ice in cooler compartment. Enough space for sandwiches, fruit, silverware, napkins, bagged snacks, etc… in top compartment. Extra front side pocket for misc stuff. Durable Zipper. Straps are large enough for the big athletic body types.
CONS:
Condensation of the cooler compartment. The product gets really wet towards the bottom of the bag due to condensation of all the ice. For a moment I thought the bag was leaking but finally figured it.
I got one of these bags when I visited my family in Luray. I use it a lot, my son has serious multiple food allergies and I can pack a lunch for 4 people in this thing. I use the cold packs that came with my pyrex on the go set and two of these plus frozen juice containers keep the food cold all day. The epipens in the front pocket stay cool too and it feels nice on your back in 80 degree weather at amusement parks. The diaper stuff stays in the top portion of the bag, in a ziploc, and toys and light blankets too. Fully loaded this bag still fits into the basket of my silver cross micro umbrella stroller, which isn’t big enough to hold anything, really. The only draw back to this bag is that the bottom collapses when there is nothing in it, like when we have eaten all of our food and are on the way home. I am planning to make a wire rack to fix this problem using a coat hanger. My husband likes this bag, because it isn’t a girly diaper bag, so I bought him one as well. When we no longer need it as a diaper bag we can still use it for outings and and scouting events. It cleans up easily and has held up well, we’ve had ours for almost two years now and no problem. Truly a useful product for those with food allergies or diabetes.
